Aka`ula Cat Garden

Providing a life long home to abandoned and homeless house cats

Aka`ula Cat Garden is a pilot project, on the island of Molokai in Hawaii, to protect and shelter homeless house cats.  Due to our year around tropical weather, the cats live in an outdoor, enclosed, fenced area.  It is a garden like setting, where they are free to run and play, climb trees and lounge in the sun. The gates to the garden shelter opened in January 2012 with 20 friendly abandoned homeless cats...now there are over 75.

All the cats are healthy, spayed and neutered, vaccinated, friendly and socialized...ready for adoption but, many will live out their lives here.

Our hope is to change the attitude toward euthanasia of cats, who are otherwise capable of living a quality life, to educate on the benefits of spaying and neutering and to show the importance of humanely caring for all animals.
